CEimB WW Pancakes with Nut Topping

This is one really good Sunday breakfast pancake or mid-day treat (according to Ted).  Don’t let the long list of ingredients scare you, it’s an easy recipe.  The long list is simply due to the topping ingredients which takes no time at all to put together. Who picked this weeks wonderful Ellie recipe?  Nicole of Dishin.  Visit her site to see how she worked this recipe.  It can also be found HERE. The recipe says to toast all the nuts (almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds) in a skillet.  I didn’t want to do this so I turned the [...]

CEimB Southwest Hash and Eggs

This weeks Ellie Krieger recipe was chosen by Melissa of Its Melissa’s Kitchen.  She has a cute little site going on that you will want to check out.  Melissa will also post this weeks recipe so make sure to bookmark it. This one is a winner. The recipe can also be found on page 30 of the book “The Food You Crave”  or can be found here. We didn’t have this meal as a brunch or breakfast, we enjoyed it as a quick and healthy weeknight meal.  I made only a few changes:  I used a green bell pepper instead [...]

CEimB Zucchini Roll ups

Officially, “CEimB Grilled Zucchini Roll-Ups with Herbs and Cheese” is this weeks Ellie Krieger recipe chosen by Liz at MyTableTheirTable.  Great job Liz. Both Ted and I enjoyed the flavors of this recipe and Ted isn’t even a fan of goat cheese. Amazing!   The recipe can be found at Liz’s site or on foodnetwork. I know YOU know that I made adjustments.  Joanne can’t leave anything alone. 1. I added a few chopped grape tomatoes mixed in with the cheese, lemon, and parsley. 2. I grilled the zucchini on the stove top and added just a few drops of [...]

CEimB: Pasta Puttanesca

This weeks recipe was picked by Jen of Whats Jen Cooking.  Make sure to visit her blog for the latest and greatest on this sauce.  The recipe may also be found HERE on the Food Network.  In the meantime, this is the Apple Crumbles version. What does “Pasta Puttanesca” mean anyway?  This is what I found in an article on Helium: The name originated in Naples after the local women of easy virtue. Pasta Puttanesca means "The way a whore would make it".   Let’s get one thing clear:  There are none of “THOSE” in my kitchen and I’m not one [...]

CEimB: PEAR French Toast Bake

First things first.  The real name for this recipe is “Peach French Toast Bake”.  Secondly, this recipe is delicious but is more like bread pudding.    On page 35 of “The Food You Crave” by Ellie Krieger, you can find this recipe or go to The Not So Skinny Kitchen and see what Liz baked up.  Liz chose our recipe this week and she chose a good one. The substitution for the peaches was because we received our Harry and David order Friday and I had 6 lucious pears to eat.  I saved one and used the other five for [...]
