The Chicken Ball

Tuesday night was suppose to be another cycle group ride.  But the email didn’t arrive and I was actually hoping it wouldn’t since the weather reverted back to February temperatures complete with snow. It wasn’t snow that stayed but still…it was in the air and that was bad enough. Thursday, when the next cycle group ride is scheduled, the weather should be nicer. I can’t wait for it to get a little warmer so I can show THIS off to my new cycling friends:   It’s from Kalli of FitandFortySomething.  “MetalMtnCycling”  !  I showed Ted and he said “did you [...]

That’s a Wrap

Exercise in review: How’s your running, cross training, walking, biking, swimming going?  I left out skiing although the weather this past week certainly leaves that as an option in many places.  As for me, all running goals have been met except for the 60 minute run Saturday. I’m looking forward to that one even though the weather is suppose to be back into the teens. Oh Thank You NY Weather!!!      Shane will be ready to get back on his running “paws” and hit the road.  Yay Shane!  Not sure where we’ll be running.  If it isn’t too muddy, we [...]

CEimB: Broccoli Cheddar Breakfast Bake

This week I absolutely insist that everyone try this recipe.  We had it for dinner. You can have it for breakfast or lunch or brunch.  Heide of Chezzero certainly knew how to pick-em this week. Three cheers for Heide!  You will have to go to Heide’s site to get the recipe since it isn’t listed on the internet.  My changes (you know they happened): Did not use a large onion. I used 4 green onions and didn’t bother dirtying a pan to cook them. I used 6 whole eggs, not 8 and used 1 cup of Egg Beaters not 8 [...]

CEimB: Emerald Stir-Fry with Tofu

I’m getting worse.  I did make this weeks recipe with beef for Ted and when I was looking at the photos to put them into this post, all of a sudden I got queasy looking at the beef.  They weren’t bad photos either but just something       ….oh well.  Here are the photos of my version of the dinner with tofu: Good pick by Alyssa of Alyssas Two Bites.  The recipe can be found on foodnetwork right here. Very easy to make.  It goes together quickly.  There are a few ingredients the average household might not have but easily substituted.  [...]

In The Bag: Lemon Love

This month’s in the bag ingredients, hosted by A Slice of Cherry Pie and Real Epicurean, are:  Lemons, Garlic, and Sesame Seeds. I’ve been using a lot of those lately so it wasn’t hard coming up with a recipe. This post is a bit of a “grab-bag” because:  first I’m offering this terrific recipe using Premium Crab Meat, Lemons, Garlic, Sesame Seeds, Roasted Anise (Fennel), and Easy Mashed Acorn Squash to serve at least 4 people (unless you eat like Ted and I, then cut that by tw0 ),  secondly, some discussion about supplements, exercise, nutrition…all that good talk.  So [...]
