“Eggland’s Best Eggs”

There’s always a little left and The Coddled Egg

Hal Higdon, an American writer, runner and co-founder of Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) offers an inspiring quote: Even when you have gone as far as you can, and everything hurts, and you are staring at the specter of self-doubt, you can find a bit more strength deep inside you, if you look closely enough. If I keep collecting these quotes, I’ll be carrying an encyclopedia during my marathon. Today’s workout was going to be easy.  Yesterday was a day off.   I was able to work chest and arms Sunday afternoon and back with shoulders yesterday before heading out [...]

No good injured and Egg Beating

Wednesday was a day of beating myself up for a bad run and poor attitude.    What a day! Phew.   The best part of Wednesday was this: Somewhat funny movie.  A romantic comedy that got a lot of criticism from me while watching. Ted kept saying “it’s a movie, they have to do that to have a story”.  Still, I enjoyed the light heartedness of it after such a down day. Thursday a recovery run was planned for 3–4 miles.  My right hamstring told me “NO WAY!”    I laced up the sneaks and headed out with Shane.  I couldn’t run [...]

Don’t Burn the Tuna Burgers

Back track to Thursday: Thursday morning’s run was exhausting for Shane.  It wasn’t a long run, we did an easy 5.7 but the temperature was a humid 73 F.  Both Shane and I are cold weather runners.  Before the run, back and triceps were worked using the cables and dumbbells.  Shane slept through the weight workout, lucky dog! Thursday night, BIKE NIGHT: We had a group ride, 27.75 miles then group PIZZA PARTY!    YAY PIZZA!  And beer!    What fun!  The eating pizza that is, as for the bike ride, long…. hot….windy….hilly.  I’m still trying to appreciate the grueling effort [...]

Coupon cooking

It’s great getting up and working out to the Olympics on television.   The time goes by fast and it seems as if the energy and determination of the athletes seeps through the TV and is absorbed by me.  Those Olympians are really helping my workout! 45 minutes on the Elliptical + 30 minutes working legs. My quads are really hurting right now.   At least it takes my mind off the hammy.  Shane and I went for a walk/jog for 53 minutes.  Cooking with coupons: Or rather…cooking what you bought with coupons.  I was typing away last night and looked to [...]
