Oneida Shores Swim 2011

I’m not so sure Ted was feeling really comfortable about the swim Saturday at Oneida Shores.  After last weekend’s Cooperstown Triathlon, with the water so cold and making it difficult for him to get into a good swimming rhythm, he wondered what this day held for him.  At 5:15 am Ted yells, “The Alarm Didn’t Go Off!”  Crap!  He immediately went downstairs to down some bagel and PB fuel and I got dressed and ran a mile with Shane. With some quick hustling around, we were able to get out the door by 6:05 am and on our way to [...]

Chocolate with Francois Coconut Rochers

Swimming:  Monday was such a burn out day, I went for a 30 minute swimming workout at the Community College to try to get some energy flowing. Swimming is a tough sport! Just because you can run so many miles doesn’t mean swimming one lap of the pool comes easy! I had to rest after every 25 meters.  First, I used the kick board to practice my kicking.  Then I tried the one arm stroke where you have one  arm at your side and swim only with the other arm then switch after 10 strokes.  That’s super tiring!  I alternated [...]

EEEKKK! The scruffy chef, above, in the long apron…here’s a close up The chef in the shorter apron….Ted said “POSE!”  A model, I’m not! “Honey? Do my arms look fat?”  The close up I’m waiting for my red and white pants (that would be one pair red, one pair white NOT red and white), then I’m all set for kitchen duty. In [...]

It was a hot one

I slept until 6:30 today and stayed in bed for 15 more minutes wondering if the position I was in would be as comfortable all day long.  It would be an impossible experiment to conduct since Shane would have to go out.  Neither Shane nor I slept well last night.  We were too hot and he was panting.  At times, he was up against the bed which caused the bed to shake. That made it pretty tough for me to sleep.  I gave up, got up, put the lights on….Don’t you JUST HATE putting the lights on when you wake [...]
