The First of Many – AGAIN

The first 17 mile run.  A lot more to follow up until race day on November 20th.  It was tough and there was one very steep hill, just under a 1/4 mile long.  It hit at the 13 mile point and my legs had just tackled a gradual incline the previous 1 1/2 miles.  Ted met me on his bike at the 11 1/2 mile point.  He was on his way to breakfast with the guys then would tackle a longer, hilly bike ride himself.  That mile he rode along beside me passed by so quickly.  It was nice. The Hungry Woman

Friday.  This week flew by.  I’m not sure I want my life to FLASH before my eyes like that.  Today I had an extra 45 minutes in bed and then Shane and I ran 5 miles.  Last run before SHOW TIME!   It was 46 degrees.  I wore light gloves and a head band for my ears.  A long sleeve shirt with a rain jacket to cover and long pants.  Luckily, it had stopped raining.  When we went to bed last night, it was falling in bucket loads. Then we couldn't stop. It was a perfect morning for a run down the Parkway, up Oneida, turning in at the [...]

Still Rushing

We rushed around with last nights dinner. We took a break to sleep.  We rushed around with this morning's breakfast... when will it stop?!  Okay, it wasn't all that bad.  This morning Shane and I went for a lovely walk through the first Proctor Park. We went just over 4 miles.  Here's the beautiful face on that little guy-o-mine: He got all excited about having his picture taken and almost knocked me over which would have been quite embarrassing seeing as it was getting later and the cars were flying by probably thinking "crazy lady!".   It's not like [...]
