Address the Pain and Piggy Pats

AMAZING SENSATION!  I put a Tiger Balm Pain Relieving Patch on my hamstring. It worked IMMEDIATELY.  Initially, I loved it.  Then I took it off before going to bed and regretted ever having tried it. My hamstring was giving me so much grief.  I was going to run Wednesday morning, a long run, but thought better of it since my leg was acting up.    I keep talking about that silly muscle but continue to run. Maybe that’s not the thing to do but it was staying about the same: an irritating little pain.  It didn’t get worse but then after [...]

First Flat and Banana Muffins

Today’s workout: chest and arms then onto a 7.53 mile run with Shane. Great morning for a run.  It was 62 degrees. The view on Saturday morning:   My favorite part of the switchbacks, located in Valley View gold course It was dark and foggy Saturday morning, but when the sun is shining, this above picture offers the light at the end of the tunnel.  The switchbacks are shaded by trees.  It’s a trail run.  To get to the point pictured above, you have to run up hill.  It’s not super steep but enough to get you looking forward to seeing [...]

The Canal Classic Bike Ride

Last week, I received a notice about a Sunday morning bike ride called the Canal Classic,  a pre-race ride for all cycling racers.  I posted a message to the MVBC group asking if “C” riders could do the ride.  The response was impressive.  Most everyone said “You should do the ride. There are a few challenging hills, but it’s a great ride and CHUCK is buying all the ladies ice cream”.  Sounded good to me, the ice cream that is. Here is the link on mapmyride.  Don’t under estimate a 6% incline. HOLY MOLY those hills are endless.  Before I [...]

Lemon Luscious Cake

Will bike for food!  That is my motto. I will ride the bike on Sunday morning as long as we can stop for breakfast.  I will ride the bike on Thursday night as long as we can go out to dinner.  At least I go!  Last nights ride was fun. It actually started WAY too slow (different leader).   A little before the half way point, the pace picked up a bit.  The gravel road was more packed this week, not as scary.  There was  a bug that flew into my helmet. That freaked me out and I had to stop, [...]

No Where to be Found

In the paper today were the results of the Nate Title Town 5K Race.  They only listed the top men and women finishers. I STILL don’t know my finishing time.  The end result of this race  could be treated like one of those movies where the ending could go however you want it to:  She achieves a PR or She falls short of even beating her last finishing time. Stay tuned. There could be a sequel. This morning the three of us did the Valley View Golf Course walk for 4.35 miles.  It was still wet although not falling from [...]

Just can’t stop

Ever feel like you haven’t stopped running from one thing to another?  Since we have been back from vacation, it seems like it’s been one thing after another.  I have more cakes to think about this weekend, there is a long run in my schedule for tomorrow morning, there is a 10K race in Clinton that I’d like to do in the afternoon, and we have a breakfast and bike ride with friends on Sunday.  Not all that is going to happen, but I’ll keep you posted. Thursday night was BIKE NIGHT!  It was an interesting ride, our longest yet [...]
