It is official Boston 2020 CANCELLED

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the Boston Marathon to be cancelled. Years of collecting It's been difficult staying motivated to train for any length run since no race is happening.  Sure, there are the virtual races but being that I don't enjoy racing to begin with, there's no reason to sign up for a race and run by myself.  I mean... why?!  I still engage the help of a trainer in hopes to better my performance at different distances once REAL racing begins again.  This holds me accountable.  Typically, I'm running 6 days a week with 2 harder [...]

Chocolate Zucchini Bread with Dark Sweet Cherries

‘Tis the season for zucchini.  We were given squash after squash from co workers.  I’ve been making my traditional pineapple zucchini bread for sweets and on the savory side, I’ve made stuffed zucchini with tuna, salads with fresh zucchini, and zucchini patties.  We’re enjoying every thing zucchini. Because Mom is Sweet Enough: A Sugarless Chocolate French Toast

Get ready to give Mom a treat.  This is a brunch she’ll never forget.  First we have to make a chocolate  bread that has hints of sweetness but it’s not sweet because of sugar. Oh no.  It’s sugarless.  The chocolate bread is sandwich style bread and if not using it for French Toast, it will perfectly pair with cream cheese or peanut butter.  Eaten when it’s nice and warm, right from the bread maker, it’s super delicious, but don’t do that.  Think of Mom. #WhenWeBake Low fat and deep chocolate flavor. Make the bread a day or so in advance [...]

Bagels with Bioenergy Ribose

D-Ribose Powder is a fundamental energy compound in the bodies production of ATP. What is ATP? Our bodies need carbohydrates, fats and proteins in order to function. However, in order to use these fuels for muscle action, they must be converted to an energy recognized by our cells called adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP). There are two ways the body produces ATP with oxygen, or Aerobically, or without oxygen, Anaerobically. More information found HERE. Ribose occurs naturally in all living cells.  ATP levels must be maintained for a healthy heart, muscular growth, and other tissues for basic body functions.  The heart needs more ATP than [...]
