Caught Ya! and New York State Apple Muffin

Have you ever been caught working out in clothes far from workout duds or in odd places… like the tub ? Ted got me twice:   1. I was downstairs in the gym (where one should be to workout) but it was later at night, boredom had hit as had curiosity about the Kenpo X DVD from the P90X program. I was ready for bed and only wearing a yellow tank top nighty,  not much else…if you know what I mean . After watching a bit of the Kenpo DVD, I decided to put my pink sneakers on, give it a [...]

Bring It and My Little Apple Galette

“BRING IT” that’s the term used all over the "P90X” program. I still don’t get it.  Personally, I like “PUMP IT” or “WORK IT” or something I can understand.  “BRING IT” doesn’t “DO IT”.  The annoying phrase  and the music (which THANKFULLY I can turn off) are my only gripes with the program. I’m really enjoying the workout. It feels good on my muscles because it’s making them work differently than what they’ve been used to for the past 12 months.  The weight isn’t as heavy because I choose to do higher reps and less weight as I get accustomed [...]

Exercise after 4pm and Warm Crab Vegetable Salad with Peas

I left work a little before 4pm to start my P90X workout, yesterday 1.  The idea of working out in the afternoon/early evening is not appealing to me AT ALL.  But I did it.  An hour and 20 minutes of P90X Chest and Back plus the AB Ripper.  It was tough.  It was something new for my body.  Did I like it? Well….like I said, it was different.   But I intend to stick with it for 90 days then go back to my other routine. My muscles aren’t benefitting from my old workout any more. They need waking up with [...]

P90X and French’s Onion Rolls with Sun Dried Tomatoes

Everything hurts.  This is the “why ‘cous”  of my pains: I ran 11 miles on Friday but took 2 days off with no stretching (bad me!) but I did massage sore muscles (good me!).  On Sunday, I did the “Fit Test” for my NEW P90X Workout Program! YAY!  Who has this program?  I didn’t realize I’d be achy after JUST doing  a fit test. Guess I’m not used to doing so many jumping jacks??!!!      Everything felt ok when I got up this morning but by mid morning, everything was hurting.  I ran another 11 miles which probably didn’t help [...]
