Just Push and New Product No Recipe

How hard are you willing to push during a workout, during a race, during  any event that challenges you physically? Most of the time, you simply need to gain enough experience to pace yourself. Then there are times when you need to dig out that motivational motto that keeps you going. This is what I’ve learned during my progression from casual running for fitness, about 8 years ago, and racing to achieve a time goal, which started about 2 years ago. 1.  You need to hang up the headset and focus on your body. a.  Breath:  if you are breathing [...]

Grilled Brook Trout

My Inner World is a site offering self discovery, self help, and motivations. On occasion, I get an email from MIW called “The Inner View”. It seems odd, but every time I receive these emails, it seems the topic of point is something that I needed at the time. Weird. Spooky. This week the topic was “Do you need someone to talk to?”. You can do it.  Move forward [...]

Do Your Own Thing and Gluten Free Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip

I have myself all worked up and scared to death about running the Boston Marathon. I keep trying to find some kind of solace in articles and posts on the internet from runners who have experienced the “Great Race”. Then I take a step back and say to myself “why are you getting all worked up?” In response to my own question, I think it’s because no matter how many times I repeat to myself that I don’t need to set a time goal, deep down I think that in deserving to run Boston I DO need to run a [...]

No MoJo and Baked Vegetable Tiers

It’s the middle of summer and there is a lot of lost motivation out there in blog land. Why is that?  Is the heat that draining?  Are we expending more energy doing other things like working in the garden, enjoying a swim in the pool, sipping more wine?  Well, that last one isn’t really expending more energy but alcohol will drain our energy unless we re-hydrate to make up for it.  Whatever the cause, the lack of mojo to get up and gojo is prevalent.   Solution: Get up an hour earlier and enjoy a longer summer day while taking a [...]
