Chocolate With Francois Chocolate Tiramisu

This month, the group of chocolate lovers who bake from Francois Payard’s book “Chocolate Epiphany” made Tiramisu.  It was chosen by Sandy of Seattle Pastry.  Sandy is very talented and I’m sure did total justice to this recipe.  As for me, my enthusiasm was lacking since I’m not a big fan of tiramisu.  The recipe was long and I went at it half heartedly.  I made it the weekend Ted was at the Masters and froze it, not sure of the outcome once defrosted.  I took a chance and defrosted the Tiramisu for Easter Sunday and it was a HUGE [...]

During that week, I did some research on recovering from hamstring strains.  The most helpful article I found was by Derek M. Hansen “Hamstring Rehabilitation and Running Mechanics Part 1”.  The article discusses the process Hansen went through to get one athlete back into competition within four weeks of injuring himself.  Stretching, active rehabilitation, and massage therapy were all used.  Based on that article and what I had available to me at home, I decided to heal [...]

We were ready for them. The pick by Heide of Chez Zero who is one busy lady, was just what Ted and I wanted after the holiday plates of overly sweet treats. If Heide doesn’t have the recipe up yet, you can find it HERE. My version is below. Walnut and Dried Cherry Bars – Joanne’s version should read “Chocolate and Dried Cherry Bars” There were [...]

Halloween Macaroon Cups

The other day I made a sauce that required the use of about 1/4 can of Sweetened condensed milk.  Isn't this a  healthy blog?  Healthy means everyone is allow a cheat day.  Today is it!  The guilt isn't too extreme since I could have run for miles on Monday but settled for just under 8 after a great weight workout.  Tuesday was also a great workout and today wasn't too shabby with a 6.5 mile run and 20 minutes of weight ..."got 'er done!".  All that working out means I get to reward myself by eating...ummmm.... WHOOPS! How many WAS that?!      [...]
