Last nights dinner was pretty good at Dominique Chesterfields.  Ted had a chicken dish and I had Oven Roasted Salmon with Baby Shrimp over sauteed spinach with a marinara-cream sauce (on the side).  After dinner we stopped to exchange the DVD and got:

Movie Time

Movie Time

It wasn’t too bad. Ted only napped for about 15 min. and I lasted through the entire movie.
After exchanging the movie,we went to Barnes & Noble. Dangerous place! I could be in there for hours!  I love it.  We picked up a few magazines and when checking out, I almost knocked over an entire notepad display stand. Ted, in trying to save it, made the funniest face and it got me laughing so hard, I couldn’t stop. Embarrassing.
SATURDAY MORNING ACTIVITIES:
Got up and out by 6AM. It hadn’t begun to rain so I grabbed Shane’s running gear and set out for a min. of 7 miles.  We ended up going 8 miles, Shane’s longest run yet.
I have to get “geared” up when bringing Shane on a long run:
Shand and his running gear

Shand and his running gear

Here we have Shane wearing his running leash. This is an ordinary collar (as opposed to his “Gentle Leader” for walking) and the leash that goes around my waist – hands free.  I have to take a water bottle for him, also goes around my waist, and a baggy to pour the water in so he can drink.  I check his pads after a run or long walk to make sure they aren’t split or tender.
This morning, we had to do a route change because there was a loose dog and I didn’t want to get in a dog fight (me and Shane against another dog!). The dog started coming at us and I stopped, and yelled (I REALLY YELLED) GO HOME!  The owner must have heard me because a few min. later the dog was called. It annoyed me because this was on a busy road leading to a popular main route. Those people must not like their dog because letting it loose like that on a busy road?! PLEASE!
We turned around and went back the way we came. Heading back, another lab-mix started barking and barrelling towards us. I stopped and, at the top of my lungs, yelled “GO AWAY”. 9648
Now I know I was loud because Shane didn’t even make a move for that dog, which stopped dead in its tracks and didn’t follow us any further.  Again, a busy road, loose dog… what are these people thinking?!!!!
We got home, I had my post run shake and apple, cleaned up and made a terrific Sat. “pat on the back” breakfast.

First let me begin with pre-run nutrition:  1 scoop Jay Robb Chocolate Protein – Shake.
Immediately after run, 1 scoop VPX vanilla shake with vitamins and supplements. 1 apple.
Now for the Saturday “Pat on the Back” breakfast:
  • 1/2 Ezekiel Muffin , toasted
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 4 cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 1/4 cup broccoli florets, chopped
  • 3/4 cup eggbeaters
  • 3 TBS feta cheese
  • 1 TBS salsa

I season the cooking veggies with garlic powder, 3 squirts of BRAGG Amino’s, Salt Free Ms. Dash, then add the eggs and sprinkle with cayenne pepper.

Now I’m ready to start my day.  I’d love to hear what your weekend breakfast is.  Do you exercise on weekends or just weekdays? Any pets?

Take care and have a super Sat.  We have to car shop again.. today should be the day!  Then I’m going to bake some goodies – either today or tomorrow. I’ll post anything that turns out super delish!
