Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed in the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So, throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Mark Twain |

A Cake For Jill’s Mom: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 10″ Marble Cake with Peanut Butter Filling (Joanne’s secret recipe). Yellow butter cream frosting.
And a cookie to boot…
Shane and I enjoyed a quiet morning walking down the Parkway. Today’s goal was to walk 60 minutes. Goal met: 1 hour 5 minutes. 4.53 miles.
I decided, as creepy as it is sometimes, I prefer running and walking in the mornings before the sun comes up. The cars are fewer which means less exhaust to take my breath away. It’s quiet. The air is crisp and clean. The early morning just feels healthier to me. Besides, I have a guardian angel that follows me. My Angel was with me on this particular morning.
Shane and I were walking down a back road to avoid the sidewalks that hadn’t been shoveled. There was a stretch where the street lights were off. As we were going through this dark patch, a car was approaching and it wasn’t moving over towards the middle to avoid us. Just as it was nearing, the street light overhead turned on. The car moved to the opposite side of the road to avoid us. Lucky? Guardian Angel? or simply a motion detector on the light? I like to think it was my Guardian Angel keeping an eye on us.
Joanne
Definitely a guardian angel. Having Shane there helps too I bet. 🙂 What a cutie. I’m such a dog lover, especially big dogs, hence the two Labradors. I always feel safe with them around when I’m walking in the morning.
Guardian angel is right! Glad you and Shane are okay. I loved your empathy on your comment about Lily! Dog mommies understand!
The cake is GORGEOUS! Have a great weekend!
Did you make that cake? It’s beautiful!
You made that cake?! Wow, it is gorgeous!
I love to run in the early early morning too. It makes my days feel much more accomplished. I am so happy your guardian angel was watching out for you!
Definitively a gorgeous and colorful cake! I think it was a guardian angel 😉
Have a great weekend,
Gera
Dawn: I love labs. Such a friendly “do it all” dog.
Nicole: Yeah – dog mommies are just like children mommies. We worry just as much and put the baby first.
Lori: Yes -that one of mine. Thanks.
Kilax: Accomplished is right. You have the rest of the day to enjoy all those good endorphins that happened after the workout.
Gera: Thanks.
Thanks Joanne, it was a fabulous cake! Soooooo Yummy! I can’t wait until the next birthday in our family!
Yay Jill! So glad you liked it!
