AND THE WINNER IS…….

SUE wins the $35.00 gift certificate from BAR FURNITURE!  I used the Random Number Generator and it picked sister SUE! Yay Sue! That’s pretty easy. I don’t even have to ask for her address and phone.

The Saturday run:

Up at 5:15 and drank 3/4 of an Isopure Plus drink.  Put on the belt so Shane and I could have some water and out we went.  I really hate carrying water and having that belt around my waist but we were going out for over an hour and dogs need water.

Our route took us around the college then to the golf course, through the switchbacks. I got a little lost in the switchbacks because I took the longer loop.  We went up to the eagle and back home.  We made two water stops.  It took me a good 3 1/2 miles today to really get into the run. I wasn’t feeling it at all.   At mile 5.5, the sun was shining nice and bright and the run just kept getting better.  We finished 9.19 miles.  Total running miles this week: 39.13

I had a massage this morning, which was SO needed.  100 minutes of bliss!

Now it’s time for cake.

CAKES:

It was a shipping experiment for cake.  Kalli of Fit and Forty Something agreed to take part in my great shipping experiment for cake. Kalli is in California so this was a real test of cake fortitude.  My cake failed.  It had a miserable 2 day ride in the UPS van.  We suspect it was treated more like a basketball than a cake.  I guess it’s one thing to ship cheesecakes and less ornate sponge cakes but to try it with a buttercream, thickly filled 6” Apple Crumbles sponge?  Doesn’t work.  Here is what it looked like before this “STELLA” cake met it’s UPS demise:

On another cake note, Meghan celebrates her 5th birthday today!  We made a cake for Meghan but made sure her dad could enjoy a piece as well. It is a Gluten Free Vanilla Cake with chocolate mousse filling.  Buttercream frosting and fondant decorations.

Maybe a bike ride this afternoon if Ted’s ankle is ok.  He twisted it last night.  One glass of wine and he falls off his feet.  Geesh!  It was nicely swollen last night but did that stop him from playing golf today?  Did the 40 degree weather stop him from playing golf today?  Oh No Sir-EE! The fact that it was going to be 72 degrees by the time he finished playing 18 forced him out the door.

What are your weekend FUN plans?
