FFF, Lost Legs and Apple Pie Cake–Low Fat

FFF = Family Fun Friday. We had a BBQ up at Sue and Sam’s house in Forestport.  Shane had to come with us because he wasn’t feeling well all day.  In fact, we had to go to the vet for some meds.  I didn’t want to leave him home alone. The food BBQ’d by young Sammy D was so good.  Everyone enjoyed chicken, pork, and beef while Sammy D cooked swordfish for me.  We had salt potatoes, mixed veg and a wonderfully fresh tossed salad. Embrace the Fatigue and Spicy Skinny Pig Cake

The most frightening outcome of running the Boston Marathon for me is the pain of exhaustion.  Can I push through it?  In an effort to look for some reassurance, I consult one of my many infamous books.   Based on excerpts From “Running Within” by Jerry Lynch, Warren Scott. Fatigue is both physiological and psychological.  Glycogen stores become depleted and you become physiologically tired.  A message is sent to your brain “Why am I doing this? Production Kitchen and Berry-Low Fat Upside Down Cake

Running/Exercise: After yesterdays Morning Glory experience, I needed a good workout.  I ate SO MANY bun scraps and candy like raisins…UGG! My stomach stills flips at the thought.  Legs and arms were worked for 55 minutes before running 4 miles at near race pace.  This week is taper week before the marathon on Sunday.  Weight workouts will be light and I’ll run through Friday.  The longest run shouldn’t exceed 5 or 6 miles with two days of strides.
