US Air Force Marathon 2012

A race for everyone . US Air Force Marathon Weekend. 5K on Friday. Saturday morning, 10K and Marathoners start the day at 7:30 am and Half Marathoners get one foot in front of the other at 8:30 am. September 15th was perfect for running. The temperature at the beginning of the race was 50 degrees. By the time runners were crossing the finish line, it was between 64 and 70 degrees.  The sun peaked out on occasion from behind the clouds. Delta Lake Intermediate Distance Triathlon 2012

It was Ted’s first Olympic (Intermediate) distance triathlon and he was a STAR! Setting up The weather was just perfect.  It was foggy early in the morning but quickly burned off as the sun radiated it’s warmth over the lake. We arrived at the event by 6:50 am (start time for Ted was 8 am) and transition was already crowded. Cooperstown Triathlon

Ted first triathlon.  He made us all proud. But let’s go back to Saturday when we drove to Cooperstown for a quick dip in the water for one last test “drive” of the wet suit before race day.   It was cold.  Ted said it felt colder than the week before.  He did a quick out and back then said he was ready.  The organizers of the Cooperstown Triathlon couldn’t have chosen a prettier venue for the race.
