It’s the week of the Boilermaker 15K road race.  This past weekend the race route was very popular among local participants.  I was out there on Saturday to start a 16 mile run.  Ran with Zoey from our house (about the 2 mile point) to the starting line, home again to drop off Zoey then proceeded up to Utica College and back.  It was a gorgeous day for running. Cranberry Cinnamon Goat Cheese with Bacon Slices

In just a couple of days it will be time to run another 15K, The Utica Boilermaker Road Race.  It can be fun or it can be tough depending on the goal.  It’s not a flat course but the hills aren’t overly aggressive either.  The crowd support is maxed out. Boilermaker 2012

The Boilermaker 15K Road Race.  It’s quite an event in Utica.  The crowd is out in full force supporting runners with water, ice, popsicles, gin and tonics….gin and tonics?  Well, yeah, that’s what I heard when passing one group handing out cups.  I didn’t touch that one.
