This is an easy to make, impressive, cookie for mature tastes. You’ll love this recipe!
Makes approx. 2 dozen cookies
Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 + 3 TBS sugar
- 3/4 tsp anise extract
- 1/3 cup + 2 TBS canola oil
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cups + 2 TBS all purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
Glaze Ingredients
- 1 well rounded cup of powdered sugar
- 2 TBS milk
- 1 tsp lemon or vanilla extract
Line 2 cookie sheets with parchment. Preheat oven to 350 deg. F
Beat the egg, sugar and anise. Add the oil and milk.
Mix the flour with the baking powder and add to the liquid mixture. Beat gently until combined.
Take 1 TBS of dough and roll into a ball. Set each 2″ apart on cookie sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes. Tops will not brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Mix the glaze ingredients together and frost the top of each cooled cookie. Sprinkle with
your choice of decorations such as sprinkles or colored sugars.

A delicate cookie for mature taste. If you want more “kid appeal”, I recommend omitting the anise and use either lemon or vanilla extracts.
