Running with Joanne, or Shane… an easy 6.72 mile run.  The morning was perfect for inspiring a nice, easy run.  It was 54 degrees and the sun was coming up, visible through the trees of the golf course. Some of the lighter colored leaves glowed in the morning light. It was perfect. I wore my Injinji socks so I wouldn’t aggravate any more blisters. I also bought more yesterday. Amazing Socks had a super deal.

In the gym before running, I worked back and triceps.  That took about 30 minutes.  Good workout.

Yesterday, when I went into the gym to workout, I noticed the door open to Ted’s workshop. Along the floor was a wide stream of water.  What the….???  I took a closer look and it was the air conditioner.  How annoying was this! Interfering with my workout at a really early hour in the morning.  Moving all the items that were along the path of the stream so, when Ted got up, he could evaluate the situation.  Yes, I profess to be helpless when it comes to air conditioning problems.  However, I did get some towels to put along the floor. Yay ME!

Ted wasn’t concerned about the water.  In fact, his response was “The air conditioner “throws up” once in a while”.  My response was “Do you think we should have it looked at?  I don’t want to take an over night trip and come home to find Shane drowning in air regurgitated air conditioner stuff”.

This morning, the air conditioner seemed to have recovered from it’s …..nausea.  The work shop was dry.

Who wants CHOCOLATE?!

This month Leslie of Lethally Delicious chose our Chocolate recipe.  Visit Leslie’s site for the complete details of how to make these Parisian delights.  Francois says you can fill them with “pistachio puree…” that sounds WONDERFUL to me.  However, I didn’t have pistachio puree and I wasn’t in the mood to make a Chocolate Ganache.  I used a strawberry mousse to fill my Macrons because I had a special little someone in mind who LOVES   strawberries.  In fact, I could call these “Marissa’s Macrons”.  Sounds kinda cool!   After all, she has a cake named after her.

When I read the recipe and saw “Almond Flour”, my initial thought was “uh oh!”.  Then I checked my flour “stash” and low and behold….

Yay for Bob’s Red Mill!   It looks like these are Gluten free goodies!

Back to Marissa….I missed her birthday since Ted and I were in Long Island.  I’ve had the honor of making Marissa’s birthday cake for a few years now. Marissa has a special addiction to strawberries which gave rise to my idea of a strawberry mousse filling.

I made the small bite size macrons as well as a MEGA MACRON.  The big one had some strawberry slices inserted on top of the mousse.

I wouldn’t regard this recipe as easy.  It requires a cooked meringue and uses a lot of eggs.  If the recipe had not been cut in half, we would be swimming in Chocolate Macrons.  The half recipe made SO many plus the big one!

Make sure you visit Leslie’s site, because even though these take a little effort, they are well worth it.  Delish!
