Delta Lake Triathlon 2013

Ted and I were curious how this years Delta Lake Triathlon would play out.  You see the Sprint athletes were starting well before the Intermediate athletes.  With one road in and out of the park for athletes as well as regular Sunday afternoon park attendees, it had the makings of mass confusion.   But no.  No confusion because ATCEndurance and all the volunteers made sure the race went smoothly without mishap.  It was another great day for every one and of course my all star Triathlete, Ted. Ted’s Delta Lake Transitioning from Swim to Bike After a good swim, it was [...]

Syracuse Half Marathon 2013 and Zoey’s First Birthday

It was a good day. It FELT like it was going to be a good day as I ran with Shane for a 2 mile warm up before leaving the house. It was a PR at 1:46:24, average pace 8:08.  Catherine Valley was a 1:46:48 so it was close, but I’ll take it. It was a good enough time for a 3rd place age group finish. STATS: Place 238 out of 1014 Finishes.  3rd out of 52 runners in age group.  I think it was due to the really neat course. It was a rolling course with the worst hill (which wasn’t that [...]

Mohawk Hudson Marathon Expo

Nothing like a short 2 hour trip to a marathon. It sure beats the 10 hour trip we made a few weeks ago.  My mood has picked up from earlier today. I’m feeling a little more relaxed and have defeated some of those negative thoughts.  The Mohawk Hudson Marathon is a small event offering both a half marathon run and the full marathon distance run.  The expo is held at the Hotel Albany but we were booted out due to construction and given a room at the Hilton Garden Inn a mile and a half down the road.  That’s not [...]

US Air Force Marathon 2012

A race for everyone . US Air Force Marathon Weekend. 5K on Friday. Saturday morning, 10K and Marathoners start the day at 7:30 am and Half Marathoners get one foot in front of the other at 8:30 am. September 15th was perfect for running. The temperature at the beginning of the race was 50 degrees. By the time runners were crossing the finish line, it was between 64 and 70 degrees.  The sun peaked out on occasion from behind the clouds. Start to Finish Spectators were allowed to the starting line with runners. No formalities about the event except the [...]

Cazenovia 2012 Triathlon

Another Sprint distance triathlon to add to Ted’s growing list of endurance events.  Today was going to be a good day.  We set up in transition early this year.  The unfortunate result of early set up is the long wait for Ted’s group to go out. The event began at 8 am, Ted wouldn’t get into the water until 8:50 am.  There were a total of 7 groups and purple caps were number 6 to start the event.  The worst part of any race is waiting for the start. The water was calm and the sun began to shine once [...]
