Make Ahead Crab Strata

After suffering with no power in the morning and the unpredictability of restored power, we didn’t dare start opening and closing the refrigerator.  When I thought about having to bring my lunch to work (Sue was out so I had to stay at the office all day), there were definite limitations.  It looked like oats that were cooked on the grill earlier in the morning would go a second round for lunch. I had a Muscle Milk in the fridge at work so that would serve to provide the protein. But what about roughage?   Guess I’ll wait until tonight and [...]

The Flower Story and Crab Quiche

January 2nd is my mother’s birthday.  It’s pretty tough buying a gift for her after exhausting all the best ideas on December 25th.  But we try.  This year, she gave us no help what-so-ever in regards to what she would like for her birthday.  When in doubt, go for flowers.  1800Flowers.com.  I love that site! This is what I ordered: and chocolates The “cake” of flowers was delivered on time (Dec. 31st as requested) and Mum was absolutely thrilled. If I keep collecting these quotes, I’ll be carrying an encyclopedia during my marathon. Today’s workout was going to be easy.  Yesterday was a day off.   I was able to work chest and arms Sunday afternoon and back with shoulders yesterday before heading out [...]

Beware of Your Socks!

First things first:  No critter in the live trap this morning.  I didn't check the peanut butter bait and can only hope it's still there.  If not, the situation is worse than anticipated:  we could have a "smart mouse".   Stay tuned for more updates..... Second:  This is a warning.  Socks can be dangerous!   It has happened again. Another family member has been injured by their sock.  The first was my Uncle years ago as he was putting on his sock with his middle finger.  Personally, the last finger I would injure pulling on my sock would be my middle finger but we are [...]
