Soft Italian Cookies

This is an easy to make, impressive, cookie for mature tastes.  You'll love this recipe! Makes approx. 2 dozen cookies                 Ingredients 1 large egg 1/3 + 3 TBS sugar 3/4 tsp anise extract 1/3 cup + 2 TBS canola oil 1/4 cup milk 2 cups + 2 TBS all purpose flour 2 tsp baking powder Glaze Ingredients 1 well rounded cup of powdered sugar 2 TBS milk 1 tsp lemon or vanilla extract Line 2 cookie sheets with parchment.  Preheat oven to 350 deg. We’re still under kitchen construction but coming to the point where money is going out at a steady pace.  It was to be expected that during this “open wallet” period that something else should come up.  What would that be? 15K Stockade-Athon Road Race and CNYEats A Taste of Utica Butter Balls

No sleeping in this Sunday morning. CNYEats A Taste of Utica Anise Cookies

From the kitchen of Mary Mayer and posted by Chris, this lovely licorice flavored cookie brings back a lot of good memories for Utica Italians.  It’s a must for that wedding cookie tray. Italian cookies are being baked, one recipe at a time, for a very special gal.  It’s almost her very special day.
