The Boilermaker, Bob's Red Mill and Monday

Yesterday Shane and I watched the Boilermaker runners pass at the MVCC - Sherman Drive mark, just under 2 miles into the 15 K race.  Some were already looking a bit "spent" and it wasn't that hot.  But good for them...they were making every attempt at the run while I stood there watching.  The temperature was good for the boilermaker, at about 70 F by the time the race started.  Ted was golfing so Shane and I were Teddy's support team at this mile marker.  Unfortunately, we spotted him as he was almost past us, but we did get a [...]

Get Energized

Can you believe it is already Monday?!  Get up and get energized because the week begins again (technically, some start the week on Sunday.. not me). The alarm went off and I was NOT ready for it, but up I got.  Ted insists I mumbled something, which I am denying but then again, I could have been sleep walking to the bathroom.  Today was a chest workout with biceps.  I could not, in any way, get my pre-workout shake down. Getting Lost In Your Own Town

When Ted and I go for long walks on the weekend, we go down all sorts of different streets in Utica.  He has lived here all his life so they are all familiar to him and tells me wonderful stories of things that happened here and there as he was growing up in and around the neighborhood.  Ted went to school at Thomas R. Proctor High School and Shane and I walk past it almost every morning.  I, however, did not grow up in Utica and even though I have lived in East Utica for many years, I went to High School at [...]
