Soft Italian Cookies

This is an easy to make, impressive, cookie for mature tastes.  You'll love this recipe! Makes approx. 2 dozen cookies                 Ingredients 1 large egg 1/3 + 3 TBS sugar 3/4 tsp anise extract 1/3 cup + 2 TBS canola oil 1/4 cup milk 2 cups + 2 TBS all purpose flour 2 tsp baking powder Glaze Ingredients 1 well rounded cup of powdered sugar 2 TBS milk 1 tsp lemon or vanilla extract Line 2 cookie sheets with parchment.  Preheat oven to 350 deg. This past summer my niece was married and a cookie tray was prepared using select recipes from out book. One of the most popular cookies was the Anise cookie.  Page 196 of the Taste of Utica book.
