What a fun event, the Diva Series Half Marathon at Myrtle Beach. The expo wasn’t over whelming with too many vendors, just enough to “window shop” and easily find some long lost Alpha Delts
As true sisters will, or rather RUNNERS, we had to eat! Our pick was Carabas where there was something for everyone on the menu
RACE DAY – April 28th
The best. Most fun.
This is another PR. And I thought 2013 should have been the year I took off from racing! Thank goodness for sisters and their inspiration.
Note that Big Sis Ann has her tutu on before the race.
She’s one of those gals who like to shed her clothes when things heat up. Way to go ANN! I’m with you on that
A bit CONGRATS and WAY TO GO and HURRAH-RAH to little sister Kathy on her FIRST HALF MARATHON!
I can’t say enough about Kathy. She’s such a bundle of smiles and laughs, quick whit, we are all so blessed to have this gal in our lives. What a winner!
The other girls…
A fantastic group. Way to go ladies!
And then of course, Lynell (now I KNOW I got that spelling right – thanks Lynell 🙂 ). She’s a take charge lady with race experience. She ran a PR for herself during this Diva and got an extra reward on the side
Lucky Lynell – a hunka – hunka fireman *The firemen were handing out the Diva medals as finishers crossed the line. Nice!
Fun, fun, fun. That was the weekend. Great time and such a reward to meet up with friends who I haven’t seen in so long.
As for my race, it was a good race. I’m learning to not be afraid to push a little harder. The benefit of that is a good time for me of 1:44:15 (net). First in my old age group and TWO very heavy medals.
How was your weekend special?
Awesome weekend for you! Looks like you had so much fun. And a great race time, to boot! I am impressed that you can be two weeks removed from a marathon and run a great race…my body would rebel!
You sound so so happy talking about this race – how fun!!
And congrats on the age group win – way to go!!!!!
Great job PRing Joanne!! CONGRATS on 1st place in your age group, AWESOME!!
Looks like you had a great time connecting with old friends too, wonderful!!
You look absolutely awesome my friend and so happy 😀
Cheers

Congratulations! A new PR AND first in your age group? That’s beyond amazing! What a terrific race for you. Congrats to your wonderful racing buddies as well. First half marathons are a wonderful milestone and I’m glad they had such a wonderful experience.
Wow! That’s such a big deal, congrats and maximum respect! I couldn’t picture myself how many feet could I run, that distance is really hard, big up!
My wife ran the same race we really loved the area staying in the N Myrtle Beach hotels I am bugging her to run again next year so we can come back!
