After an enjoyable afternoon and evening in Erie, PA, we set off to Dayton, OH, home of the US Air Force Marathon.  We took the not-so-direct route.

The Football Hall of Fame was calling our names.  We enjoyed an hour walking through football history.

One Bronco the first year….

Two Broncos the second year.

Then there was the biggest super bowl ring ever made…

Of course there was much more than just jewelry at the Hall of Fame but I couldn’t leave without making sure I left my mark and designed the winning ring for 2013…

One more stop before Dayton.  We logged in and did THIS…

I’m not sure a third Boston will happen but I wanted to make sure I was signed up just in case Spring training felt good.

We finally made it to the marathon expo at the Wright State University Nutter Center next to the Air Force base.

An easy bib and bag pick up then upstairs to shop around.  We picked up some fuel belts, iPhone arm bands, and a few other extras.  The announcer called the 5K race so we high tailed it out before getting trapped in the parking lot due to road closings.

Whoops!  We didn’t realize our vehicle would get trapped in the parking lot!  Ted was NOT happy.

As luck would have it, we were only there 5 minutes before the owner of the black car in front of us stopped to put bags in his car.  He kindly moved so we could escape.

Our hotel, about 5 miles from the base, only gave us one hour delayed checkout.  That’s not much time given the amount of time it takes me to run 26.2 miles.  Frustrated and hungry, we decided to leave it until the morning before deciding whether to take our chances at being late checking out or doing so before the event.

Dinner.  Our next problem.  There was no where to eat.  We went to Giovanni’s. It was packed with a 45 minute wait.  We stopped at two more restaurant/lounges only to find no pasta on the menu but lots of fried food. Not good for my stomach.

Fairfield Family Restaurant was our stop and I will leave it at this: I truly hope that I don’t have to spend the night in the bathroom.

Desperate for something more..we went looking for a simple slice of pizza. Nothing.  I bought a bag of pretzels, Ted bought a beer.

We call it a night. Wish my puppies well (love you, guys! Red heart)  and pray the running angels are on my shoulder in the morning. Angel
