The leaves needed to be raked.
Shane wanted to play.
Sometimes you just don’t feel like doing anything but enjoying the moment.
The colors of Fall.
It’s nice to relax once in awhile. Enjoy life. You know?
Biscochitos: In other words, Mexican Cookies and the State recipe of New Mexico. It’s a cookie served during the holidays or on special occasions.
It’s a deliciously crisp sugar cookie and perfect to adorn your cookie tray.
Makes 3 – 4 dozen depending on the size of your cookie cutter.
- 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter or trans fat free margarine
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp anise seed
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Topping: 2/3 cup sugar + 2 tsp cinnamon
Preheat oven to 400 F.
Cream the sugar and butter. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
Roll out dough on a floured surface and use your favorite cookie cutter to cut out sugar cookies.
Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet for 8 – 10 minutes.
Immediately sprinkle the top with sugar & cinnamon mix.
I love cookies so much. -sigh-
Your Fall colors still look so gorgeous!! Here just about everything is on the ground in typical “dull November” colors now. Still looks funny to see the tall rows and rows of corn in the fields that are long dried out and never tended to.
There is still just a bit of color in our yard. The photo’s above are abotu all the color that’s left.
Wow, those colors are amazing.
My friend used to have a Shepherd that loves to fetch…and play in the snow. Awesome dog.
Thanks for sharing the recipe – the anise has me intrigued.
There’s a Greek cookie that my grandma used to make that has it, too.
I’ll be trying it soon.

Thanks Dana. I love G.S Dogs. They are so loyal and have amazing personalities.
Love all of the fall pics! Other than a gorgeous sunset there’s nothing that beats the beauty of fall colors! Yum – Biscochitos! Buttery goodness! I love these little cookies and this time of year, I can find them everywhere which is good because if I made them, I’d eat them all in no time. 🙂 Your cookies look fantastic!
Thanks 🙂
Beautiful fall colours and I always love seeing pictures of Shane, gorgeous!
He’s our cutie. He’s 4 yrs old but still such a puppy.
