Ted said the bacon was delicious. It tasted like candy. We both agreed it was a good idea to use Turkey Bacon with less fat if he was going to eat it “like candy”.
Our recipe this week from A Taste of Utica is Roast Bacon
Page 104 is the two ingredient recipe posted by Rainie Piccione
1 Package of your favorite bacon (*I used Turkey Bacon for Ted since he doesn’t eat a lot of regular bacon)
1/4 cup brown sugar (or you can use 100% maple syrup)
Preheat the oven to 400 F. Place the bacon in a single layer on a foil lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle the top with brown sugar or
maple syrup. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
I didn’t eat it but it sure did smell delightful.
I know this is one batch of cooked bacon that won’t go to waist …ah..I mean waste .
Next week: Crock Pot Roast. *I’m making this one today for Ted’s valentine meal and since we will be in
S.C. next weekend. I’m sure it will be another wonderful Taste of Utica recipe.
Sounds really good! I love sweet + savory, especially in bacon form. 🙂
Bacon candy. That just sounds wicked. I bet the smell could be bottled as pheromones.
i love it
