Friday Morning late start:  After Ted got back from the bike ride Thursday, we had a late dinner at Uno’s which meant a late start to this day.  But Shane and I managed 3.2 walking miles with a little ball playing over at the track in spite of the additional zzz’s.

The tents were set up at MV for the weekend Relay For Life.  That means Shane and I are banned from walking around MVCC Saturday and Sunday.  We’ve been yelled at before “NO DOGS!”  Grrrrr….in some cases, dogs are more preferred over SOME people!  I never would say that but I’ve thought it.

As I said, above …when TED got back from the bike ride.  No bike ride Thursday for me.  It was a beautiful night but I was a bit unmotivated to say the least after trying to cram a bunch of running miles into 3 days.  Not that I was tired, I just didn’t have the push in me that’s needed to get me moving late in the day.  Ted said it was a good thing I didn’t go. It was windy and cool heading out and they road fast and hard for 27 miles.  There were only 5 in last nights group.  A little regret today that I didn’t go and get that great workout in but, there’s always next week.

Thursday morning was the last day of running this week before my 5K on Saturday.  The workout was a simple 30 minutes of Elliptical, 40 minutes of back, shoulders, and abs with weights.  The run was 3 1/2 miles at an easy pace through wet streets of Utica and around MVCC.

Recap of the Manufacturing EXPO

Good day away from the office, not a good turn out for the show. I think the advertising for it was lacking.  It’s a shame.  When you introduce something like an EXPO for the first time, it is so important for it to be a hit so the following year, it will bring more participants and visitors.

Our table was the best:

Since the event was slow and lunch wasn’t really my style, I had 3 of these:

candy bowl

Not the whole bowl of course but NIPS!  I LOVE NIPS!  That’s what happens if I’m bored: mindless munching.  I wasn’t the only one. A lady from one of the other companies came to our table for idle chit-chat then FESSED up that she really wanted our candy.  She grabbed a handful. I TOLD you we had the best table!!!

The cake.

The cake was for a rehearsal dinner.  Our friend’s son is getting married and the theme on the invitation was Cinderella.  It was a challenge to come up with a rehearsal dinner cake that represented the theme without looking like a little girl’s Cinderella cake.

White cake. Cheese cake filling (real cheesecake with sour cream topping and graham cracker crumb base = New York Style Cheesecake).  It was topped in vanilla buttercream.  I sprayed a pearl finish on the cake to give the carriage, horses, roses and cake top a pearly finish. There are gold stars sprinkled on top for that “magical” feel.
