Happy New Year! Hope you enjoyed your New Years Eve whether it was wild and crazy or calm and relaxed.
I did manage to get a good 5 miles plus in this morning. It’s just too easy to run in this 45 degree weather and no hills. What a great way to work out the toxins of last night!
Ted and I went to Tommy Bahamas for a party celebration
The event was a one price package offering free flowing champagne, a full and complete 4 coarse menu, Tommy Bahama Signature Button Down Shirts (or beach bag and towel), and a live band.
We had a blast
I even tried to learn the Electric Slide (my dancing feet were not with me…)
What’s for dinner….
Appetizers
Ahi Tuna tossed in soy and sesame layered with guacamole. Served with Tommy’s Flatbread. Note about taste: This was a very interesting dish. Both Ted and I were wide eyed while eating this burst of fresh tuna and guacamole. There was something spicy, hot, tangy that hit the sides of your tongue. It was such a wonderful taste experience.
On the half-shell topped with spinach, Pernod, bacon & melted parmesan, finished with sweet hollandaise.
The Salads…
Fresh baby spinach, sweet grape tomatoes, thin sliced red Bermuda onions, Kalamata olives, Applewood smoked bacon & garlic croutons, served with warm herb feta cheese vinaigrette.
Crisp whole leaf romaine hearts and Grana Padana cheese.
The Entrees..so hard to make a choice…
8 oz Black Angus filet, char-grilled served over lobster-shiitake risotto and grilled asparagus, finished with a creamy truffle brandy demi-glaze.
Blackened fresh halibut fillet & 3 jumbo shrimp served with almond-coconut sticky rice and sautéed garlic, spinach & Miataki mushrooms, finished with a mango-red pepper buerre blanc.
Oh YEAH we had dessert….
Caramelized bananas , brioche, rum & cream served warm with vanilla ice cream and a caramel sauce.
Chocolate, pecans & bourbon baked and topped with white chocolate mousse whipped cream. DECADENT!!!
Ted then partook in a dance “Y.M.C.A”….
and we had some lovey, dovey moments…
…our dancing feet were tired….we had too much champagne…our belly’s were over stuffed…and we had rung in the New Year in a whoopin’, hoppin’, butt slappin’ way. Time to go home.
Look who was waiting for us as we pulled in the driveway…
Happy New Year! Best wishes to everyone one for success, health and happiness.
