We woke up to rain this morning.  Forty eight degrees and raining.  Shane still had to go out for a walk and I signed up to do the 5k Freedom from Running event at the Utica Marina.

I put on my “dog walking” clothes and started off on our walk.  The rain didn’t let up. The wind was brisk and doubts began to set in as I went left foot all in to a puddle. I decided to speed things up a bit and put a little jogging into our step.  Jogging wouldn’t hurt my 5K run.  Crossing grass, trying to avoid flowing water, it was all impossible.  I could hear the water sloshing in my sneakers with every foot fall.  Shane and I went for a 5.38 mile jog/walk.  It was at about the 4 mile mark when the bottom of my feet were really hurting that I decided I wasn’t going to venture out in the rain again, only for groceries.

No 5K run today. But I feel good because I sent my money in ahead of time so it went to a good cause.   The proceeds of the run benefit the YWCA of the Mohawk Valley against domestic violence.

Shane was soaking wet….

My clothes and sneakers soaked through….(my hands must have been shaking from the cold…a little blurry …)

A nice hot bath was in order.  Next on the agenda was a good hot cup of Autumn Harvest Blend Green Mountain Coffee…..

A good hot breakfast of Egg Beaters, Broccoli, Cherry Tomatoes, Green Onions, Hot Cherry Peppers out of last nights greens, and finally creamy Feta cheese.  The toast was a must which was Brown Rice Bread…

Finally, the grocery list was made out and now it’s out the door, into the rain, to buy our home some food.

Tonight is our annual Halloween Party with friends.  I’m the odd “Blueman” out but I should be able to get some good photos of Ted, Rock and Jackie.   Have a great Saturday.  Stay dry!
