A terrific aerobic workout today, over 8 miles total.  I ran 4 1/2 miles on the treadmill and then went out into the cool morning for a 3 3/4 + run with Shane.  The air was cool and crisp.  The lower temperature, 50 degrees, makes running so much easier.  No chance encounters with the local wild life although Shane’s ears were up and alert in some places.  It gets pretty freaky when the hair stands up on his back, then I start to get really nervous.  But not this morning, just a relaxing run at a steady pace.

Super Grain Breakfast made up of 1/3 cup Bob’s Red Mill 5-Grain oats, DSC_1010

lots of fruit such as 1/2 a nectarine, 1/2 TBS dried cranberries, 1/4 cup fresh blueberries, 2 sliced strawberries and 1/2 TBS Naturally More Peanut Butter.

DSC_0988 To add some protein in with breakfast, I added a Revolutionary Nutrition Chocolate Shake with 1/4 cup raspberries added.  This is a new protein powder I picked up.  It’s smooth tasting and in 1 scoop (32g) there are 24 g of protein.  That’s pretty standard, but it also has “Stevizyme” which supports the immune system and improves digestion for protein utilization.  As we are coming into cold season and with all the talk about the swine flu, any immune system support I’ll take.

How much do you use your cell phone?  That long standing question that really has never been answered is up on the board again…does cell phone use cause brain cancer?   The word is that the incidents of brain tumors is higher if your cell phone usage has been 10 years or more and you hold the device to your ear.  To reduce your chances of suffering the consequences, invest in an ear bud and use that when talking on your cell phone.

DSC_1011 It’s hump day – hope you have a great one!
