New Age CD

dscn0339Yesterday, a CD I ordered arrived in the mail.  I heard about this group last week on NPR and loved the preview of their songs.  On the inside cover, the group writes …

We are 3 minds, hearts and bodies linked in a chain of melodies and grooves we’ve made to soothe us, and bring us peace and freedom in a world full of confusion. ….  The words “Lal Meri” in Hindi convey a great adoration, affection and belief to inspire a people to smile through the best and most troubled of times, much like we are seeing and in need of today.  We only hope that these songs will spill over your senses and fill your hearts with love……”

The music is moving and interesting to listen to.  It’s a good CD for sitting back, relaxing and inspiring thought.

The Big Spill

On my way into work today, I stopped for gas. I’m standing there, holding the pump while it deposits gallons of nose stinging gasoline into my jeep.  I hear that familiar tone change when the tank is about full and I await the “click” so the handle will spring from my grasp and the gas will stop. Still waiting.  Waiting.  Hmmm – I look down. Oh My Gosh!  The gas is spilling out of my jeep and beginning to surround my feet.

I went inside and told the attendant who had to go outside and spread “kitty litter” on the spill. She was kind enough to let me wash my hands.  Hopefully the pump was the problem and not my lack of attention. whoops!

But the day began in a good way….

I did make a good start initially today.  Got up with only a minor struggle.  Worked the ET for 20 minutes, TM for 15 and legs for 35 minutes.  Shane and I jogged/walked for 3 miles.

Leg workout: 4 sets x 12 -15 – 20 reps.

  • Step ups on bench and Hack Squat
  • Leg Presses and Leg Curls
  • Leg Extensions and Seated Calf raises
  • Walking lunges and crunches with medicine ball

Breakfast was Bob’s Red Mill 5 Grain Cereal with Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride tea bag, 1 TBS raisins and GoLean Kashi.

I had a VPX before my workout and a VPX with 1 cup of frozen raspberries with my hot cereal.

Lets see if the rest of the day reverts back to the way it began… good, or if it continues by bringing on “interesting” situations.  I’ll let you know later.

Hope your day is filled with TERRIFIC surprises.

I have this weird thing about gas touching me. I wouldn’t have been as calm as you are! Great workout and hot cereal!

I did freak a little. Mostly because…well, the cost of gas and I wasted so much!
