This morning, as Shane and I turned toward the Gym at MVCC,  we saw a questionable situation.  There is usually a bicycle chained to a post at the corner of the building.  I have seen it there throughout this nasty winter.  Today, there was a person (moved like a man) lumbering across the parking lot toward the Gym building.  He went right to the bike and began sawing at the chain.  It actually went through my mind whether to say something or not.  Would he say something to me like “not to worry – it’s my bike”. NO.  It was 5:30 AM… did he wake up and suddenly decide it was time to get his bike and WHOOPS! forgot the code/key  to the lock?

Given some thought, I decided it wouldn’t be very smart to open my mouth even though I was in the company of a great big German Shepherd.  Usually people who steal and commit crimes in general, are not really nice.   My next thought was that if I saw anyone in the foyer at the Gym I’d gently knock on the window to get their attention. No one. This was a rare morning where we didn’t see Campus Security, people in the lit buildings – nothing. So I remained quiet and watched this person get on the bike and ride it out of the parking lot.  Hmmmm????   If I saw a Utica Police Car (which I do on occasion) I thought I would stop the Officer. Not this morning. Just me and Shane and a “potential” bike thief.

Enough about crime…. what’s with this strawberry?

Why do you think some strawberries spread and look  like “mutants” ?  I always look at them in a questionable way before eating them, wondering if they are going to be the sweetest or the least tasty in the bunch.   This morning, they were added to my Smooth Banana Protein shake so it was hard to tell. But the shake did taste very good!

Staying on the topic of food, my breakfast grain was Bob’s Red Mill 10 Grain Hot Cereal, espresso style.  I added a little cinnamon and about 1/2 tsp of espresso powder, a few raisins and dried cranberries, and finished the cereal with 1/2 a chopped apple.

The espresso was very subtle.  The apple and dried fruits gave it only a hint of sweetness. Not bad – not the best.

Workin’ It on Tuesday.

Today’s workout was legs and it was a good workout as well.

4 sets x 15 reps.

Walking lunges with weights, leg presses, ball squats against the wall with weights, leg extensions, leg curls, seated calf raises, and finishing with 3 x 20 sets of ab exercises.

The aerobics were 21 minutes on the elliptical, 15 minutes on the treadmill at a 6.7 run, and a 2.75 mile walk with Shane.

To my joyful surprise, most of the sidewalks along the Parkway were clear. It was the first time in months I’ve taken the Parkway home. Not bad … Spring must be around the corner!

Have a great day!
