Ted had the right idea this morning – stay in bed. I reluctantly, got up and some how made it through my work out.  I started with a Jay Robb Protein Shake.  25 minutes on the Elliptical which seemed like an hour. 40 minutes working shoulders and abs.  4 sets of everything with 12 repetitions each.  Shoulder press with dumb bells. Using the cable machine, front raises, rear delts, lateral raises. Back to the dumb bells, superset up against the wall: front raise + lateral raise + upright row + arnold presses.  In between all that, I worked my abs using the ball, leg raises off the bench, lying ball raises.

It really wasn’t that bad out side early this morning and Shane and I managed a  3.3 mile run.  Ted was listening to the weather and it seems we are in for some heavy snow at some point today. Oh joy!

For breakfast, I wanted something different but wasn’t really that hungry.  I opted for English Toffee Oats.

  • 1/4 cup Bob’s Red Mill Steel Cut Oats
  • 1/4 banana slices
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla (I added this before I got the idea of the ETO’s)
  • Now here is the ETO’s:   English Toffee Tea Bag

I let the banana and the tea bag cook with the oats to infuse a fantastic flavor.

The protein breakfast shake was 1 scoop VPX, 1/4 banana, 1/2 cup FUZE, and 2 strawberries.

This breakfast was exactly what I needed this morning.

Today’s Thursday and a GREAT day to really contemplate those New Year’s Resolutions. Make sure you stick to them.  Have a great day.  Just thought, one way to make it better is to enter Zesty’s give away. Check it out at
