Great football game last night!  Unfortunately, I was rootin’ for Indianapolis. Ted and I both dozed in and out of the game but woke up to catch the exciting end.

Before that… you just can’t believe how blogging ignorant I am!  I was clicking on the “Sticky” option which made all my blogs remain on the home page. This, if you noticed, slowed the site down tremendously. Yesterday…. I spent over an hour UN-STICKING every blog since October. Unbelievable. I’m like those guys that think they can assemble everything without reading the directions. Ugg….what a tedious task that was. So anyway, you should find that the site loads a bit quicker.

I was SO looking forward to going for one of our long walks this morning but the cold, cold temperatures reappeared and only allowed us a very short run down the road and back, 2.35 miles.  Good news was that Shane’s feet didn’t freeze up. Bad news was that my fingers did.

We came home, I went downstairs to do 20 minutes of rowing. Ted’s turn outside in the cold with Shane. He took him out to play some frisbee in the snow. They lasted about 15 minutes.  Ted is able to wrap up in a way that keeps him warm. I can’t. There just aren’t enough sweaters, coats, thermals, pants, gloves, nor hats that will work to keep my body warm in single digit weather. I have to run like a mad woman and work up a sweat before my body parts begin to feel any heat.   Enough about that… this is how we initiated then fed our energies today.

Now we had 3 bananas that were definitely looking pretty ugly.  Ted and I shared one.  The other two were committed to becoming the key ingredient in

Banana Pancakes

  • 2 cups Heart Healthy Bisquick

  • 1 2/3 cups Soymilk

  • 2 Eggs, slightly beaten

  • 1 tsp Apple Pie Spice

  • 1 3/4 cup (2) smashed bananas. Leaving 1/4 of a banana for chopped pcs. to top cakes.

Add the first 4 ingredients, whip well. Add the smashed banana. Heat your grill pan. Add SmartBalance, let it get hot and pour in your first 4 cakes. Proceed with the rest of the batter in the same manner.

As for me, oh so predictable. But I DID change my wkend. omelet a little. I have taken to cooking egg yolks for Shane, the finicky eater among us, as he seems to really like them. I use the egg whites for my own egg meal. So today’s omelet was an egg white, broccoli, spinach one, with reduced fat feta (lots of it) and hot sauce.

Now it’s off to the grocery store to restock. Hope we find something so great that it overwhelms us with excitement. Doubtful. See you later – have a super, pooper Sunday.
