We just can’t keep up with our garden birds appetites. They are emptying the feeder about every 3-4 days now. Either we bought some really tasty food or our neighbors aren’t doing their share of bird feeding!
This feeder by the way, is pretty neat. It is attached to our kitchen window. If we get brave birds, we can watch them feed for a bit. The Cardinals are very shy and won’t even come to the feeder if they see you move in the kitchen. There is a draw back. Some of the littlest birds are most aggressive and when the feeder gets low, as it is now, they tap on the window with their little beaks. This causes Shane to have a barking fit. Doesn’t make for a very quiet household.
On to the activities of the morning. Began with a 4 mile treadmill run. Worked legs today for 35 min. Shane and I ran 2 miles then walked a small loop for about 10 minutes. Pre workout shake = 1 scoop VPX. Post workout meal, 1 scoop VPX + 1/4 banana + 3 oz raspberries and lots of ice and water. The oatmeal was different this morning. I let an English Toffee tea bag steep in hot water while I went out with Shane. When we got back, I brought it to a boil with 1/2 tsp apple pie spice + 1/4 cup GF steel cut oats +1/4 banana. I call this my English Toffee Oats. Very subtle flavor but nice. If you like creamy oats, you could certainly make this with milk or soy milk.
Now for a did you know?…. The Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball will be lit with the same amount of electricity it takes to power 10 toasters or 1 oven range. HAVE A GREAT DAY!
