Good Sunday Morning, All!  Last night Ted and I enjoyed the company of some good friends at one of the old Italian restaurants, Grimaldi’s.  We had more than enough great food starting with tomato pie, then some great hot bread, onto some garlic pizza, and everyone else enjoyed the greens (they contained prosciutto – so I didn’t indulge but was certainly eyeballing the hot cherry peppers-bummer!). For dinner, Ted compared Grimaldi’s veal Alfredo to Fridays veal dish at Bella Cucina which was veal Giovanni.  He actually preferred the Giovanni said it had a bit more flavor. I had the salmon almondine special. I think I would have really enjoyed it had my stomach been feeling a bit better… it had been making its presence known all day. I firmly believe body parts and organs need to function in a healthy way and that means that we shouldn’t know they are even there!

Fred showed me a money clip with the Welsh Dragon on it – the symbol of Wales. The Welsh dragon represents the ancient standard of the Tudor Family. A good site for reference in regards to the word on that money clip or other Welsh translations for that matter is: http://www.geiriadur.net/atebion.php?prefLang=en  I couldn’t remember the exact spelling. But I think it was simply a word for “Welsh” or “Wales”.

This morning is a gorgeous, but cold, upstate morning.  The sun is out and there are still some colorful leaves gently falling from the trees.  The three of us went for a walk around the Proctor Parks (I make that plural because I think both parks are Proctor Parks but with different first names to identifiying them… Utica knowledgeables…help???!!!).  I wanted to share the beautiful pictures with you but my battery died so… I’ll have to save that blog for another nice day.  The 2nd park (one w/ the arch on Culver) celebrates its 100th birthday come 2009. It now has a small Butterfly Sanctuary donated by a local family and the 5th graders- obviously at 25 deg. we didn’t see any butterflys today.  The fountains are still flowing and they have cleaned up the many stone walkways and paths leading into the woods and around the park.  Sometimes those little things make you appreciate Utica even though the weather isn’t always great and the taxes are high and….ok, lets just enjoy the moment!

Breakfast today… after really trying to work up an appetite was an eggbeater omelete: 1/2 cup eggbeaters 1 tbs chopped onions sauteed with 6 small asparagus spears and 5 small cherry tomatoes. Topped with 2 tbs of feta cheese and 1 tbs salsa, put on top of a toasted low carb, whole grain tortilla. On the side, 1/2 a grapefruit.

On the agenda today is some more baking. I’ll make the pineapple zucchini bread and come up with a way to use those chopped cranberrys from yesterday.  Check out recipes later. Enjoy your Sunday!
