FOFF Taco Salad

On page 28 of the book Fusion of Food and Friends by chef Carla Vavala, there is a recipe for a terrific brunch salad or dinner salad.  It’s a little spicy, “meaty”, cheesy and filled with crisp Romaine lettuce.  A good source of vegetables plus protein (either vegetarian or carnivore).  The best part, as always, is that it’s quick and easy. Serves 4 1 lb. ground turkey (or used LiteLife vegetarian crumbles) 1 envelope Reduced Sodium taco seasoning 1 head of Romaine lettuce, chopped (To add more variety, use a packaged mixed greens salad mix) 2 tomatoes sliced 1 cucumber [...]

Exercise after 4pm and Warm Crab Vegetable Salad with Peas

I left work a little before 4pm to start my P90X workout, yesterday 1.  The idea of working out in the afternoon/early evening is not appealing to me AT ALL.  But I did it.  An hour and 20 minutes of P90X Chest and Back plus the AB Ripper.  It was tough.  It was something new for my body.  Did I like it? Well….like I said, it was different.   But I intend to stick with it for 90 days then go back to my other routine. My muscles aren’t benefitting from my old workout any more. 23 Glorious Miles and Millet Salad

I wore the top and skort that is the outfit for my marathon. I wore the pace band around my lower arm to protect against the chafe that the phone sleeve gives me.  I wore my Newtons and my Injinji socks.  I had the running fuel which I planned to use for the marathon. Banana, Gu Shot, Clif Shot, Sports [...]

The After Bloat

Began the day with a full stomach so I made use of it and did 35 minutes of mixed aerobics and a quick shoulder workout.  Shane and I went for a walk then we played a little frisbee in the track field. Back track a bit... why I have a full stomach is because at about 7:30 PM I had a snack attack. Instead of picking here and there, I decided to make a healthy salad. Healthy in portion size and ingredients.  1 1/2 cups mixed salad greens. 1/4 cup black eyed peas 1 oz feta cheese [...]
