This recipe is not your typical blonde brownie recipe.  See for yourself. Lots of nuts with a banana twist.

Makes 1, 13 x 9 pan – cut into small squares

Ingredients with the directions along the way…the easy way to do it.

Preheat oven to 350 F.   Spray a 13 x 9 baking pan with non-stick spray.

Cream the following 5 ingredients in a standing mixer for 4 – 5 minutes.  Scraping down sides 1/2 way:

  • 1/2 stick butter, room temperature
  • 3 oz Almond paste
  • 2 bananas, over ripe preferred
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Add 2 eggs 1 at a time
  • Add 1 tsp almond extract (or vanilla if you prefer)

Continue beating for 1 minute.

Blend together the following 3 ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

Gradually mix the flour mixture into the creamed mixture only until incorporated.

  • Stir in 2 cups of chopped pecans.

Pour into the prepared baking pan and into the oven at 350 deg. for 35 minutes.

Nutty Blondie Gone Bananas

Not your average blonde brownie. Rich with almond paste and an abundance of nuts. Great with a cup of tea.
Ingredients
  • •1/2 stick butter, room temperature
  • •3 oz Almond paste

  • •1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • •1 1/2 tsp salt

  4. Add the eggs and the almond/vanilla extract and continue beating for 1 minute.
  5. Blend together the next 3 dry ingredients
  6. Gradually mix the flour mixture into the creamed mixture only until incorporated. Stir in the nuts.
  7. Pour into the prepared baking pan and into the oven at 350 deg. for 35 minutes.
