The day was perfect. The water for athletes was perfect. And the participant’s shirts were pretty darned perfect.   ATCEndurance

Ted had a good event, getting a beer glass for third in his age group.  Time 3:09

His swim was probably slower by a minute or so than usual for the Olympic distance.  In fact his comment as he ran past us to transition was “That seemed to take forever”.  At one point, a woman swam over the top of him.  That would slow me down.

He transitioned well and onto the bike course, 24 miles.

Does he look as if he is enjoying this thing?!

He had a terrific run and looked strong the entire 10K.

The only draw back was that the finish area didn’t offer the usual party to follow.  There was plenty of food for athletes but the beer and music were a mile or so down the road so you had to leave to enjoy the afternoon festivities.  Once we were in the truck, we made for home not the party.  All other criteria that make an event noteworthy and memorable were in place.

Great job Ted. 3 hrs 9 minutes.  Next:  Old Forge Triathlon in August.
