What a great mini vacation in Florida. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed the company of family for three days.
Fabulous food.
Fun night life.
We were able to exercise every morning. The hotel had a fabulous gym and the area was made for running. I was on my favorite brand of treadmill (PreCor) every morning.
When we were done in the gym, we went outside for some heated workouts. Ted has started running again. He’s not too enthusiastic and we took it slow, coupling running with walking for a total of 4.8 miles. I was able to run over 8 miles Friday and close to 10 Saturday. That gave me an excuse to eat the FAB food.
The weather was all that you expect Florida weather to be.
That would be me trying my best at being a sun worshipper for 2 minutes.
After a lot of walking around, swimming, and spending time with the extended family poolside, everyone (over 40 of us) were invited to the rehearsal dinner.
I don’t remember snapping the following shot of the bride-to-be (Pam) and her dad (my hubbly-bubbly) before rehearsal. Too much sun or too much wine? One or the other caused memory loss.
During dinner, Ted tried to catch Nicholas and I swinging our hips and shaking our heads to the music.
The big day: Pam and Heman’s Wedding
We had a blast.
Such a beautiful bride and Dad was so proud
Pam and Heman are off to Hawaii for a fantastic honeymoon filled with fun.
Ted and I are back in New York busier than ever with work. Some fun things now have to be put on hold since October forced a backlog in both of our important commitments.
We did have a great time in Delray. Something about the beach, warm weather, and a glorious wedding brings out the romance in all of us.
Where is your favorite getaway location?
Joanne
Sounds like a fabulous time – and I love that fountain!
My favorite getaway location is hands down New Orleans. If we had the $$, we would have a vacation home there.
We went to NO years ago, well before Katrina hit. It was fun but cold when we were there. The old buildings and fun architecture is so interesting.
you look fabulous! and so happy!
Thanks.
You look so beautiful! I love that beige dress on you…just stunning. What a fun-filled weekend. You ate great food, basked in balmy weather and enjoyed time with family and friends. It sounds just about perfect to me! Thanks for sharing, sweet lady!
Thank you. I was concerned about the dress because it was long but it worked out well.
Oh, sun and fun sounds so gooooood! you look so relaxed in your worshipping picture and I bet the wedding was lovely.
I was too relaxed. Didn’t want to come home. 🙁
Joanne – you look beautiful in that dress! Great lookin couple!
Sounds like a fantastic trip, Ted looks like such a proud dad. 🙂
Thanks Heather.
Joanne…how fab is it to be able to take in fun times like these ;o)
Delray brings back fond memories from at least 15 years ago…wow, how time flys.
You look like you relish every great moment that life offers you…how great of an example you are!
My favourite getaway is anywhere I can relax by the waterfront coastal areas anywhere in the world.
Have a great week,
Claudia
You’re so right. It was a wonderful wind down time for everyone.
I’m making those absolutely breath taking chocolate ricotta muffins you posted today. So GOOD!
aww you look so beautiful.
Gorgeous photos! I was ooohing and aah’ing over them on my cell phone during a lull in court this morning and got asked what I was looking at. So I proceeded to share! That’s how gorgeous they were!
Love the sun goddess photo! And she was such a pretty bride. So much to be grateful for.
Fave getaway? Huh. Right now it’s Disney as the Princess Half is in February and it’ll be my first real trip to Disneyworld. But we love Gatlinburg with all the nice (affordable) cabins for rent as a private getaway.
Nice pictures, congrats to Pam and Heman
Hi Joanne,
I was one of Pam’s bridesmaids. It was great to meet you, Pam’s dad and the rest of the family. Pam shared your blog with me a few months back and I have peeked at your delicious recipes from time to time. I am also a runner so I just want to say congrats on qualifying for Boston!
I’m really glad everyone enjoyed Delray! It was a beaaautiful wedding, so perfect.
Katie
Seemingly fabulous weather for the wedding, and Pamela looked stunning .. classic and timeless. Love the photo of you & Ted, all decked out & both looking happy and relaxed – -but my favorite pic is your last, lovely!
Glad your getaway was so enjoyable, you deserve it. Altho back to the grind, we’re fortunate to have such special times as these to break up the monotony.
Great pics! Looks like a beautiful weekend, and yes, the weekend WAS quite nice, wasn’t it? 🙂 Glad you had such a nice visit in the Sunshine State.
Congrats to the new couple!
*hugs* from Orlando!
I’m glad you enjoyed our wedding weekend, it was so much fun :)!!
We are back from Hawaii, it was a great time, lots of fun and relaxation.
