Monday starts the work week and working out week. Checking the legs….”are you ready?”  Legs respond:  “NO!”  The brain never listens to the legs anyway.

Interval work: 2 mile warm up.  3 minutes hard running and 3 minutes easy (I mostly walked in between. not much energy this morning) x 8 sets.

Weights:  Chest and shoulders for 35 minutes.  *Legs were worked late Sunday afternoon. I was bored and tired of cooking and baking so I went into the gym and did a good hard leg workout.  Ted was in the Humane Society Golf Tournament all Sunday afternoon.  He brought home a trophy. YAY TED!

Finishing up:  Shane and I went for a 3 mile easy run.  Total Running Miles Monday: 10.56

SUNDAY:  I finally got back on the bike yesterday after not riding in 2 weeks.  Ted and I rode to breakfast

After breakfast, we continued on for a good ride.  19.8 miles. Average speed 14.

It was a crazy weekend.  I was grumpy most of the weekend. Not sure why because it was quite the non-stop chain of events.

Cake delivery then groceries.  Grocery shopping is getting painful to the wallet.  The cart wasn’t even filled and the cost of our groceries was outrageous!  It’s all those fresh vegetables and healthy food items.  We might live longer and healthier but we’ll have no money left to support ourselves.  It’s a no win situation!

Following the shopping, Mum and I went to lunch.  We decided on Nola’s in Clinton

Mum had a garden salad and the tomato soup Florentine

I had the black bean and corn salad with grilled shrimp.

Delightful little restaurant.  We sat on the upper tier at the back.  Old books lined the wall.

Nola’s is certainly a little nook Ted and I will have to visit for one of our Friday night feasts.  All the wines they offered were calling my name but it was early afternoon on Saturday and not quite wine time.

Ted was waiting for me when Mum and I got home.  It was P A R T Y   T I M E!

We went to a friends BBQ.  Young Teddy met us there.  He’s in the above photo on the picnic table bench talking to our friends mother.  All of a sudden there was a hoot and an holler and she yelled “HE’S GOT A HARLEY!”.  Turns out Karen’s mom was not only a fan of our young Marine but also a Harley Babe!

Ted brought the bike around so she could sit on it.  No driving!

The day was filled will BBQ’d and smoked meats (beef and turkey)…

While the meat eaters did their thing, I wandered down to peruse the veggie garden

Tomatoes looked red ripe and juicy.

Squash blossoms anyone????

Swiss chard and beets

There were cupcakes.  This little boy was pretty smart.  He made sure to leave the frosting all over his face just in case he wanted a little more later.

There were puppies and kitties

Busy weekends are fun but they go by WAY too fast.  Now the work week starts again and worst of all…..I have a root canal scheduled for this afternoon.  Maybe that’s why I was grumpy this past weekend?!
