Monday starts the work week and working out week. Checking the legs….”are you ready?” Legs respond: “NO!” The brain never listens to the legs anyway.
Interval work: 2 mile warm up. 3 minutes hard running and 3 minutes easy (I mostly walked in between. not much energy this morning) x 8 sets.
Weights: Chest and shoulders for 35 minutes. *Legs were worked late Sunday afternoon. I was bored and tired of cooking and baking so I went into the gym and did a good hard leg workout. Ted was in the Humane Society Golf Tournament all Sunday afternoon. He brought home a trophy. YAY TED!
Finishing up: Shane and I went for a 3 mile easy run. Total Running Miles Monday: 10.56
SUNDAY: I finally got back on the bike yesterday after not riding in 2 weeks. Ted and I rode to breakfast
My usual Veggie Giambotte
After breakfast, we continued on for a good ride. 19.8 miles. Average speed 14.
It was a crazy weekend. I was grumpy most of the weekend. Not sure why because it was quite the non-stop chain of events.
Cake delivery then groceries. Grocery shopping is getting painful to the wallet. The cart wasn’t even filled and the cost of our groceries was outrageous! It’s all those fresh vegetables and healthy food items. We might live longer and healthier but we’ll have no money left to support ourselves. It’s a no win situation!
Following the shopping, Mum and I went to lunch. We decided on Nola’s in Clinton.
Mum had a garden salad and the tomato soup Florentine
I had the black bean and corn salad with grilled shrimp.
Delightful little restaurant. We sat on the upper tier at the back. Old books lined the wall.
Nola’s is certainly a little nook Ted and I will have to visit for one of our Friday night feasts. All the wines they offered were calling my name but it was early afternoon on Saturday and not quite wine time.
Ted was waiting for me when Mum and I got home. It was P A R T Y T I M E!
We went to a friends BBQ. Young Teddy met us there. He’s in the above photo on the picnic table bench talking to our friends mother. All of a sudden there was a hoot and an holler and she yelled “HE’S GOT A HARLEY!”. Turns out Karen’s mom was not only a fan of our young Marine but also a Harley Babe!
Ted brought the bike around so she could sit on it. No driving!
The day was filled will BBQ’d and smoked meats (beef and turkey)…
While the meat eaters did their thing, I wandered down to peruse the veggie garden
Tomatoes looked red ripe and juicy.
Squash blossoms anyone????
Swiss chard and beets
There were cupcakes. This little boy was pretty smart. He made sure to leave the frosting all over his face just in case he wanted a little more later.
There were puppies and kitties
Busy weekends are fun but they go by WAY too fast. Now the work week starts again and worst of all…..I have a root canal scheduled for this afternoon. Maybe that’s why I was grumpy this past weekend?!
Congrats to Ted on the win!!
Wow, all your food this weekend looks awesome.
Good luck this afternoon at the dentist! You’ll be glad when it’s all over……. 🙂
Thanks. Unfort. I’m used to root canals. This is not my first 🙁
Congrats to Ted! It certainly looks like a good weekend 😀
Sorry to hear about the root canal.
Groceries irritate me sometimes. I wish I could buy more organic, but just can’t justify the price on some things.
Me too. I really would love to go all organic but the pricing is simply prohibitive.
Yay Ted! That’s so exciting. Congratulations. Good luck at the dentist’s!
Thanks. Don’t you just “love” dentists?!!!
Congrats to Ted, I want that breakfast and what a gorgeous cat!
He was a gorgeous kitty. The most exquisite eyes.
Cute dogs and cats 😀
I know the feeling with grocery shopping! it’s the same with us, we put HUGE amounts of money into it every week!
There are only two of us in the house and our grocery bill is so much more than people we know feeding four.
Congratulations to Ted…and what a wonderful collection of food! From the frittata to those nicely grilled shrimp…I enjoyed every picture. I hope you have a good Monday and a great week love!
Cute cute puppy!! Awesome job on the workout today!
Yay for Ted! And you for the awesome extended workout!
I’d be grumpy all weekend with a root canal scheduled too. Ugh, poor thing. It’ll pureed fruit & veggies for a while. I always want whatever sauce isn’t applesauce by the end.
Totes cute puppy!

I couldn’t agree more! Every time I shop (which is several times a week since I prefer ‘fresh’ items), I am shocked at the rising $$ bill. *sigh*
I think grumpy keeps us balanced sometimes! LOL The party looks like great fun… so sorry to hear of the dental stuff – yuck!
Hope you’re feeling a bit better today….
*hugs* from Orlando!
